On behalf of our students, faculty, staff and governing board, let me first thank the residents of our community for your vote of confidence in us by passing Measure TT on November 4, 2008. What a magnificent opportunity you have given us!

As you all are aware our schools are in dire need, most of our campuses are nearly 50-75 years old and with one bond passed in the last 40 years to address facility needs, the passage of Measure TT couldn't be better.

With these bond funds we will make all school campuses safe, secure, and accessible. We will also provide equal access to high quality learning and recreational facilities, while enhancing access to technology for our students and teachers.

Measure TT will have an Oversight Committee charged with the monitoring of all bond funds, and will publish an annual report to the public.

Project Name

Pasadena & John Muir High Schools

Project Budget

$4 Million

Completion Date

August 2009

Project Description

Measure TT Delivers! John Muir and Pasadena High Schools both had synthetic turf and track installed during the summer.  Both campuses received $1 million each Measure TT funds which supported the construction efforts at both campuses.

The turf system installed is "Ultrablade MM" - a synthetic turf that is about 2 1/2 inches thick and contains "cool fill" beads to help keep the surface cooler.

The long-term goal calls for each school to have a complete stadium complex, with permanent stands, restrooms, locker rooms and concession stands.

In November 1997, the communities of Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre passed the $240 million Measure Y School Bond by a 73% majority vote.

In Nov 4th 2008 the local communities yet again placed the same faith and trust in the Pasadena Unified School District and passed Measure TT - the $350 million bond to repair and upgrade PUSD's aging and deteriorating campuses.

As we move into the next phase of this endeavor, we will act with prudence and responsibly to the the public. Budget details and project plans will be carefully laid out for prioritization and efficiency, while making certain timely completion of projects and ensure that they reflect the community's trust in our District.

This is a very exciting time for the Pasadena Unified School District. Please visit our website at your convenience to keep updated on the progress of the Measure TT Projects.
